A new report on the socio-economic impact of angling in Denmark reveals that anglers, both from Denmark and abroad, spend EUR383m (DKK2.85bn) on their pastime creating 2,000 jobs in the sector. The average Danish angler spends EUR535 (DKK4000) a year.
The report analyses Danish anglers behaviour, motives, and preferences and looks at angling tourism from abroad. Apart from providing an insight into the sector the report can also be used by the tourist industry, local and regional administrations, and private industry to try and capitalise on a sport that combines experiencing nature with the thrill of the catch.
