The Marel equiment show for the salmon processing industry will again this year demonstrate both the latest developments from the company as well as a wide range of existing machinery used as standalone units and integrated into complete processing lines. Live demonstrations running throughout the day will give visitors a realistic picture of the machines and their capabilities. Among the equipment to be presented will be a new D-cut slicer with vision technology, a new four lane vacuum pinbone remover, portioning and tray loading concepts, and robot loading in freezing processes. The event is expected to attract decision-makers from the global salmon industry who, in addition to viewing the equipment, will also be able to hear two keynote presentations. One, on listeria in the production area, its persistence and the risk of contamination, that will also show how hygienic design is contributing to the production of safe food, is by Elvin Bugge, a leading consultant with Aquatic AS. The second presentation, by David Forbush, Vice President of value addition and manufacturing at Ocean Beauty Seafoods, USA, will look at the wild salmon industry. The event, dubbed Salmon Showhow, will be held at the 500 sq. m showroom in Nørresundby, Denmark on 3 February. For more information visit http://www.marel.com/salmonshow
